Onboarding Documentation
Welcome to West Capital Lending! Below is a step-by-step guide on how to sign in to both your Internal (westcapitallending) and your Marketing (see your Welcome to West Capital Lending email sent previously) emails. The goal is for these instructions to assist you in accesses your resources and helping you be that much more prepared for Orientation on Tuesday. Please try to have this completed BEFORE you arrive to class so that we may get started as quickly as possible. Our team will be in the office an hour prior to assist you if you need it.
- WESTCAPITALLENDNG (Outlook)
1. go to portal.office.com and log in with your westcapitallending email. Your credentials were sent to you in the Welcome to West Capital Lending email you received previously.

2. Once you log in, you will receive a prompt stating "Let's keep your account secure". This is where we will set up 2FA with the Microsoft Authenticator app.

3. Download the Microsoft Authenticator app to your cell phone via the Play/Apple store.
- BE SURE TO DOWNLOAD THE CORRECT APP! There are several in the app store, install the one that matches the Icon below:

- When you first download the app, it will ask you to Sign in to an account. Do Not Sign In! Select the option to Skip for now.
When you are on the main page, click the + icon in the upper right corner,

- select Work or School account,

- then Scan QR Code.
- Enable Push Notifications for the app if your phone prompts you to do that.

4. On the PC, click Next until the QR code appears, and Scan the QR Code with the Authenticator app. You only need to scan the code once!
-
-
After scanning, click Next on the PC to get the Verification Code to pop up. Do not click into the account in the Authenticator app; the 6-digit code shown there is NOT the code you want. You will need to enter a 2-digit code on your phone.
-
- Do Not Scan the QR code with your cell phone camera. It will take you to the app store to download the app instead of linking your account.
- App Password: simply enter the words MYAPPPASSWORD and click Next until completing this part.
-

5. After this, you will be able to create your own Password. Current Password = temp password sent in the Welcome email. Your new password CANNOT contain your name, birthdate, or basic dictionary words spelled out (Awesome1, Password123,). We recommend using a Password Manager like 1Password to make and manage secure passwords.
-
6. Once you create a new password, you will be asked if you would like your Organization to make changes to your Device. Please UNCHECK the box and select YES.

- If you receive an error message like below, do not fret! This is just a bug, your account will sign in and configure itself. You can simply click Done or Continue.

7. Once you have signed in, you can close any pop windows that appear, especially any pertaining to Copilot. In the left reading pane select the Apps icon and select Outlook. This will open the Outlook web app.
-
You are now logged into your westcapitallending email! This is your main mailbox where Onboarding will be sending your invites to the other accounts you will be setting up in Orientation.
-
We are now going to set up your Marketing email.
MARKETING
This email is hosted by Google, so we will sign in on their website here.
1. go to gmail.com, log in with your marketing email credentials (sent in the Welcome to West Capital Lending email).

2. Make a new password, following the same rules as above, and approve any permissions.
-
3. Follow the prompts to Enroll in 2FA. Click the option to Set up 2-Step Verification, enter your phone number, then the code you receive to enable.

Thats it! Pretty simple for this one. You will learn more during Orientation about how they want you to use this account.
Next, we are going to sign into your Marketing email in Outlook. This is so you can access both emails in one place, instead of having to toggle between Outlook and Gmail.
Signing into the Outlook app
- If you need to download the Office suite, go to portal.office.com, sign in with your westcapitallending account, clear or exit out of any Popups, then on the main page in the upper right corner is the Install Apps button. Click this and then select the option to install apps. You can also use this link to {Install the Microsoft Suite}
- If you already have the Outlook app, open it up and sign in with your westcapitallending email. You may be asked to "sign in" a few times to first Activate the license, then to log into your account. Since you have already enable the account previously, signing in should be quick.
- IF YOU ARE COMING FROM ANOTHER SHOP AND USING THE SAME PC, AND IF YOUR PREVIOUS ACCOUNT IS STILL SHOWING UP, we will need to schedule separate time to create a new profile for you. You will not be able to log into the desktop app with your previous companies account still linked.
- Once logged in, we will add the marketing email into Outlook. Select File > Add Account > then enter your marketing email. You will be redirected to the Gmail log in page you saw earlier. Please approve the email by select the Check box and clicking Done. This will set up both of your emails in Outlook so you dont need to switch between Office.com and Gmail.com
SHAREPOINT
- You would have received an email from the HelpDesk saying we have "Shared the Folder" with you. Search for this or "SharePoint" in your westcapitallending mailbox.

1. Follow the link, signing in/authenticating your account if prompted
2. On the web page, you will see an option to SYNC your folders. Click this, then check the box to Allow SharePoint to open on your device.

3. Sign in again when prompted and also do the No sign into this app only option.
BE SURE THAT YOUR WESTCAPITALLENDING ACCOUNT IS PRE-FILLED.

4. Sign in, clicking next until you are prompted to Open your OneDrive Folders.

- If you receive the error below, DO NOT FRET! this is simply a bug with microsoft. You can either click Next or Close out of this window. Your folders will set up.

When you are done, you should be inside your File Explorer/Finder app and see the folders listed below.

That's all there is too it! You have signed in into your accounts are ready for Orientation on Tuesday. Thank you for following along.
